Watchmen opens in theaters

Being a big fan of Alam Moore, I’ve been waiting for this day for years, but there’s been a lot of talk about the movie since it is based on one of the greatest graphic novels ever written.

My favorite was this PR stunt in the UK, where Paramount recreated Dr. Manhattan over the Thames River with the world’s largest water screen projector.

However, there has been some talk about how the latest comic book movies have catered to a different audience— mainly not kids. Last night, i went to see the midnight showing of Watchmen, and I can tell you that it is not appropriate for children. It was also evident in the music they chose for the movie, as most of the younger movie goers had no clue who Bob Dylan was and wouldn’t know his music if it were blasting out their ears.

Some other angles on the Watchmen movie:

-A little background on the origins of Watchmen

Behind the Minutemen

-Alan Moore interview on superheroes

-Another interview with Alan Moore

-Entertainment Weekly interviewed Zack Snyder about his thoughts on the un-filmable
